Setting up a new database connection in Dreamweaver

Please help,

I am creating a directory website and desided to use a few webassist products to automate the process. Yesterday I worked for three hours trying to fix a connection error and I finally did. I was able to connect to my database on my remote server and view all of my tables.

Now today when I started to work on the site after downloading a few more webassist extentions I could nolonger get my database connection to work.

It tells me that "an unidentified error has occured" and nothing else. My Remote server is testing correctly and so is my test server which was the problem yesterday. Since that is not the issue this time I can not figure out what the problem could be.

Please help!!!!!!!!

Thank you very much for your reply. I have followed these steps over and over again and I am still not able to get a working database connection. It's crazy becuase it was working just lastnight and I was able to access my tables from Dreamweaver. Now I am getting "unidentified error" could this have anything to do with me downloading Boss, security assist, and file manager from the extention librabry. That is the only thing I have done since last night.

Thanks,

It shouldn't, but maybe the cache got corrupted.

This is one of the reason's I don't use IIS - too many weird problems. I switched to XAMPP years ago, and haven't looked back

Have a look at this:

You're welcome. Don't forget that you can't have 2 web servers on the same port at the same time, so either change the port of one or un-install the one you don't use.

Let us know how you make out. I can add clarification to the instructions if you find a sticking point.
