How to protect files in a subfolder?

Hi,
this might be too easy for a question, but how do I protect files in a subfolder? Security Assist writes a header in each php document with an access rule and that works fine. But is there a way to protect pdf files an/or media files like pictures, so that they are only available for those logged in?

SecurityAssist on its own can't protect digital assets such as PDFs and images. You could combine SecurityAssist with DigitalFilePro and accomplish it.

Use SecurityAssist to manage the log in and then follow the steps to setting up Digital Downloads (with DigitalFilePro) to protect the location ect of the digital assets.

A way to handle it very simply would be to wrap the links to the digital assets with IF THEN logic and check to see if the person is logged in. If they are logged in then show the links / If they're not logged in do not show the links. This wouldn't require DigitalFilePro, but the location of the digital assets would not be protected.

This is an interesting way for letting people download files. My problem rather is the other way round.
I have digital file pro and HTML Editor as well. The problem is, that in our cms which we build for our clients, they use the kfm extended functionality from HTML Editor to upload files.
Files which should only be accessible for logged in users. (Users with the right to download these files.)
So I don't understand how digital file pro would help here?

DigitalFilePro has a download capability that you can incorporate with SecurityAssist to only allow those with permission to download the files involved. It also provides the ability to protect the location of the files which makes it impossible for someone to locate the file and browse through them.

Unless I missed something, this is what you said you were trying to do.

I did not use digital file pro for quite some time now because there is such a comfortable way putting files with HTML Editor. There you can also delete files (physically) and it shows things very similar to a local harddisk. And there exists an option for protecting. So, no way to combine this?
