can you describe in what way it does not work?

Does it not send the email?

Does it send the email incorrectly?

I will need a description of the results you are getting vs. what you expect to happen to be able to offer assistance.

If you could also send a copy of the page, that would be helpful.

if you are not receiving the email, you should double check that the email server is set correctly. Also try leaving the From Display Name option blank in the Email password server behavior.

If you are still having a problem, make sure that the If lookup fails option is set to go to a failure page, if the lookup fails it will not try to send an email, so determining if lookup is successful can help trouble shoot.

If it is going to the lookup failure page, make sure the setting fro the email column is correct.

Powerstore: Email error for "Forgot Password"

Hi,

(a) When I keyed in my email on the "forgot password" page on the Powerstore, I see the error at the top of the refiected page:

"Warning: mail() [function.mail]: SMTP server response: 451 See smtplf.html. in D:\Hosting\3905780\html\WA_Universal_Email\mail_PHP.php on line 254"

(b) In addition, I did not receive any "email verification" emails when I 1st register.

Please advise.

Thank you.

morc.mzw383871,

please do not hijack other threads with unrelated problems. please start new threads when reporting an issue. the original issue this thread was started for was with Security Assist, your problem is in PowerStore and is not related.

For the error you are getting, try edit the WA_UniversalEmail/mail_PHP.php file.

Change line 115 - 119:

php:
if(isset($_SERVER['SERVER_SOFTWARE']) && stristr($_SERVER['SERVER_SOFTWARE'],'microsoft')){

    $lineEnd = "\r\n";
  }else{
    $lineEnd = "\n";
  }

to:

php:
$lineEnd = "\r\n";

For the registration email, are you using the users_registration_full.php page for registration, if so see the known issues section of the PowerStore download page for a solution top the problem.

"Forgot Password"

Hi Jason,

Apologize for the "hijacking" - I tho' we could ask related questions. will not do that in the future.

In anycase, I cannot find the line 115-119 in "mail_PHP.php". Is it another document?

Thanks.

No it is in the mail_PHP.php file, send your copy of that file and I will let you know what to change.

Emails only to addresses on same server

Now we noticed the emails are only being sent to emails on the same server as the site is hosted on, it does not send to other email addresses.

That is a setting on the SMTP server end, the SMTP server is set to relay email only to addresses on the same domain.

They may require you to use Authentication to be able to send emails. You should contact the host to see what restrictions are in place on the SMTP server.
