MySQLI - PHP 8

Hi Support-team,

I am using the MySQLi Server Behaviors 1.0.8 (with Dreamweaver CS6) and after the PHP 8 upgrade to some of the servers it is not working correctly.

I can still connect but I am not able to use the test function and the model database. If I switch back to PHP 7 everything works fine. - So, does the MySQLi Server Behaviors 1.0.8 not support PHP8?

It should support php8. If you send me ftp access I can take a look and debug the issue to see what is going on.

I have the same problem. My hosting provider has upgraded to PHP 8.1. Many dynamic parts created by DataAssist now no longer work and probably need to be updated. When I try locally to select PHP version 8 in MAMP, there are problems with DataAssist. I can't create or update the MySQLi Recordset for example. An error message: "An unknown error has occurred" is displayed. I suspect DataAssist is not compatible as there are no problems with PHP 7.X when I switch locally. But since the hosting provider has now upgraded their servers, it doesn't work and I can't go back. I don't know what to do now?

It works in php8, so there must be some other issue causing the problem. If you send me your dreamweaver site definition then I could try to reproduce t he issue and tell you what is wrong.

You didn't include your FTP credentials in your export, so I can't connect to the server to get the connection file and reproduce the error. I may not be able to reproduce it anyway... I just re-read your previous post and it looks like you were having the errors on your localhost and not on your live server. I'll need to reproduce the error to debug it. We may need to do a phone call so I can debug your localhost server connection.

Sorry, try again with this.

We will have to do screen sharing to debug this. You are using a local testing server and the testing server is what Dreamweaver uses for the database connection.

There is an issue with PHP 8.x and definitely in 8.2. Some functions have been deprecated. mysqli_stmt_get_result: In PHP 8.0, mysqli_stmt_get_result() is deprecated. It looks as though we should be using get_result() directly on the mysqli_stmt object.

Please try reinstalling again. This issue should be fixed in the latest version.
