database connection

I'm trying to connect to my Mysql database on the remote server. What is the MySQL server that I use? I can connect to a database on the local testing server but not remotely.

Thanks!

This is usually an issue with the Testing Server settings in Dreamweaver. That is what dreamweaver will use to try to connect to your database. If you have difficulty getting it working, I'll do a quick screen share with you and help you set it up so you can see what you are doing wrong. Just give me a call using the number at the bottom of every page on this site.

Thanks Ray,
That did the trick. Can you advise if there are any tutorials on setting up the email functionality with the cart for the order confirmation email?
So, I used the software create a small store at pipingtech.store. If you go to the bottom of the screen, you can add to cart an item for 50 cents. On checkout, it takes you to the paypal login, allows you to select payment method and then it says it is taking you back to the shopping site to complete payment. It doesn't actually work because it returns you to an empty shopping cart. How do I correct these errors?
Thanks!

This is probably because you are starting with a url that includes www. in front and then return to a version without the www. in front or vice versa. When the domain changes, the session isn't shared, so it is like you are returning to a new session and your cart is cleared.

The way I usually resolve this issue is to create a .htaccess rule that will either always add or remove www. so the domain remains consistent.
