users_Login.php won't go to correct page

hello - on my users_LogIn page at
users_LogIn.php
a correct login should take you to ruffdraftdesigns.com/ruffteam/indexS.php
instead it goes to the Profile update page

I have set success_redirect to go to indexS.php
but some other redirection (cookies?) sends it to users_Profile

can you tell me the file/line(s) to correct to make a good user Login go ONLY to the ruffteam/indexS.php page

thanks for your time. david

Would it be possible to get an updated copy of your UserLogin page posted here? If not I will need to open a ticket for you so we can get a copy of this file. To see why the user is being redirected like this I will need a copy of this page. It would probably be helpful to have the profile and indexs page as well if the issue is not apparent on the login page.

re: ruffteam/users_Login page

hello. I tried to paste the 'ruffdraftdesigns.com/ruffteam/users_Login page' here as requested, and it was rejected as being too large (15K vs 10K).

so I pasted (& attached) it to an open ticket in my support history.

let me know what I should do next. thank you for your time

I've looked at the file you posted in the ticket and have requested some more files. Please update the ticket, I will update this thread again when we get further along with the issue.

re: sent requested files, have a Q

hello.
I noticed that if you go to the ruffteam/users_LogIn.php page and successfully login you can get to the secure indexS.php page.

however, if you try to go directly to the indexS.php page, and log in successfully, the security on the page does not accept the user but invariably redirects them to the users_Profile page.

In other words, instead of getting
users_LogIn.php
you get
users_LogIn.php?accesscheck=%2Fruffteam%2Fusers_Profile.php

could this code (below) be the problem? I don't know how to fix it.

=========================

<?php require_once( "../WA_SecurityAssist/Helper_PHP.php" ); ?>
<?php
if (!WA_Auth_RulePasses("Email Confirmed")){
WA_Auth_RestrictAccess("users_Profile.php");
}
?>

thanks for your time

The problem is that on the indexS page you have the rule set to go to the profile page. So it is not just rejecting the user on this indexS page but also on the profile page. Since the profile page is the last attempted page to be accessed before the user is redirected to the login page it is the page that the user will go to after a successful login.

Your indexS page should redirect the user to the login page, not the profile page. In the code you posted you can just replace the profile page with the login page.

I will go ahead and close the ticket, when a ticket is opened based on a thread it makes it very confusing to have responses posted in multiple locations. In the future please only respond to your thread if a ticket has not been opened, if a ticket for the thread has been opened please just respond to the ticket and not the thread.

re: changing users_Profile.php update redirect

thank you eric.
That fixed the indexS.php login problem with the rule.

On my 'ruffdraftdesigns.com/ruffteam/users_Profile.php' page
when you click the 'update button' the page just reloads.
where can I change it to redirect to 'indexS.php' instead of 'users_Profile.php'
when you click the update button?

I can see I need to understand making and editing rules better. Should I use one of my WA extensions to recognize the rules on a page and edit them, or dp I do this through Dreamweaver?

thanks, david

ps. I deleted all remaining open tickets in my support history.

On your profile page there is an update server behavior. You can edit this server behavior and specify the redirect page as the indexS page.

When it comes to the rules you can edit these from the Modify > Security Assist > Access Rules Manager.

Thanks for closing out the tickets, it really helps us keep everything running smoothly.
