Building out a custom home page

Building out a custom home page

I'd love to use one of the three home page layout templates, but I dislike the idea of the gigantic "store message" and would rather just show a matrix of products, or at least links to my product categories. That said, I don't know how to go about this using the 'Empty Content Area' option. If I want, say, a 3x3 matrix of products or image links to product categories, how would I go about this?

I'll be selling dozens of products in about 6 different categories...where the home page templates only have a max of 2 products, they don't work for me.

Go to the pages and navigation tab, select the home and click the modify content button.

in the store message section, click the edit button to open the content editor for that section.

you can add a 3 x 3 table to the section, or you can add divs to create the 3x3 layout, in the layout, you can add images and links for the products you want to feature.

after adding the content to that area, you will probably need to go to the design tab and click advanced to change the height for the store message pod to fit your product content:
#fma.content {height:500px;}
