eCart 5 - Add to cart button: Redirect

Hi- I am completely new to php and shopping carts. I made a test site with one product on one page. Then I went through and followed the Web Development Tutorial for eCart. (static) The pages seem to be created. I made no changes but added the product name and price in the Binding Tab of the Add to Cart Button interface. The pages seem to be there but when I click the add to cart button, nothing happens. I have it redirected to: cart1.php. I tried the longer file name starting with localhost....but that did not work either. There are no error messages and the page does not seem to go anywhere. When I go to the live cart1.php it says the shopping cart is empty. Any help would be appreciate. Thank you. (I wanted to send you the file but wasn't sure how to do that and not have the code all run together.)

This is most likely a probelm with the server configuration.

use the attached sessionTest.php file to test the servers session management settings. If the test fails, the host will need to correct the problem, most likely a bad session.save_path setting in the php.ini file.

Thank you for the response. I have downloaded the file and it opened up in DW. Before I proceed, should I use this file when DW is connected to MAMP? (and create a new site name or put the file in a site name that is already set up for mamp and has other files in it?)

you only need to upload the file to the same location as the add to cart problem page and run it in the browser.

Ok I am not sure I did this right.....I put file in DW with Mamp running (same location as cart problem page). I clicked each link once but am not sure anything happened. What should I do next? Thanks.

This was an issue using DW's live view, we used the Preview in Browser instead to get working.
