Cannot add product to catalog

Cannot add product to catalog

I am able to test PowerStore on a test server, have added several Categories by using the Admin function and can see those Categories on my web site as well as in Admin. However, when I try to add a product it fails but I cannot find a log file with a reason/error message.

I think I may be able to correct my problem by following the thread in "PHP.ini permissions" but would like to find or define the error log first.

I'm assuming since I can add categories that I do not have a connection or priviledge error.

Add the following to line one of the product insert page:

php:
<?php

error_reporting
(E_ALL);
ini_set('display_errors','on');
?>

If there is a php error occurring, this will cause it to display on the screen

Added the suggested code. No code or status messages are displayed by the application.

In IE8 the message "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" is sometimes returned, although it may also return a new (reset) Product Add page.

Firefox 3.5.2 displays a message "The connection was reset" or returns a blank page.

After further testing I found something that may or may not help. As stated initially, I successfully inserted Categories in Admin. When I hover the mouse pointer over the "Add this category" button on the "Add/Edit Categories page", the full path appears at the bottom of IE8, i.e.,
"http://localhost:21000/Footprints_V2R3/Admin/productcategories_Results.php". However, when I hover over the "Finish" button for adding a product, only
"Products_Insert.php" is displayed. Is it possible the product insert does not have $WAGLOBAL_Root_URL prepending the file name?

Jason worked with me today in an attempt to resolve the problem. No definite cause was found, but at this point the most likely issue is my test server (local on my PC). I will move my app to a remote server and test there to see if the issue is resolved. My thanks to Jason and WebAssist.

The reason the Product Add feature would not work was due to my test environment although I do not know the specific cause.

Product update fails when I run it on a local test server from Expression Web 2 (this is the original problem Jason tried to resolve). However, when I moved the application to my test server root (C:\Program Files\Zend\Apache2\htdocs), open a browser and run it from there (index.php) the products update. I am satisfied that the original problem was related to my test environment and was not a PowerStore problem.
