Please Help with Paypal Integration

I am using pay payments advanced and I get this error now on checkout...

"Some required information is missing or incorrect. Please correct the fields below and try again.

Error: Merchant Design Identification Error."


is this on your side or paypal's side. If its on Paypal side, is there extra integration I need to do on that end to make it work?

I know my username and password is right because I am not getting the error "user authentication failed"

help please!

Sounds like some needed settings in the Paypal manager have not been configured yet.

These steps should get you up and running:
1. Log into your PayPal Manager account at manager.paypal.com
2. Choose the 'Service Settings' option from the main navigation.
3. Choose the 'Set Up' link.
4. Scroll down the page and make sure the following setting are set as needed:
- Use Silent Post = "Yes"
- Enable Secure Token = "Yes"
5. Then, choose 'Save Changes'
6. Next, choose 'Customize' from the sub-navigation.
7. Make sure 'Layout C' is selected and click 'Save and Publish'.

I suggest you guys provide better documentation on this, because from the user side, it feels like all you have to do is enter that information and you are set.

Is this documentation anywhere on cafe commerce admin?

PayPal advanced is a pretty new service. At this point, even the PayPal documentation is pretty slim.

Normally, on signing up for a PayPal advanced account, these settings are already in place and no further configuration is needed. It being such a new service, they are still ironing things out.

This error also happened to me. I had to mess with it until I had the right settings entered. Let me know if you have any questions.

I had the merchant design error
fixed that (as instructed in this post)
and now I get a new error:

"Error: PayPal Express Checkout is not setup on this account."

still having the weird situation on my set-up page where i have this paypal window quickly appear then disappear.
running firefox on ubuntu.

looks like this is a problem with having your account set to Test mode

To fix this issue, enter the PayPal Manager.
Go to the "Service Settings" tab.
Select "Set-up".
Under the "Choose your settings" section, switch "Transaction Process Mode" from "Test" to "Live".
