Complicated Layouts

With Sculptor can you create more complex layouts than the basic full column presets?

I have been eyeing this product up for a few weeks now. For example can I take a sliced layout from Fireworks and import it into Sculptor or something like that?

Basically I guess a better way to ask is can Sculptor do more than the basic Header, Column and footer layouts?

You will not be able to import sliced layouts from fireworks into sculptor, however, sculptor is suited to making more than just header, column and footer layouts. In the wizard you can add divs and customize them to suit your needs. You can put the sliced layout components in the divs if need be.

Thanks Jimmy,

So in theory this work flow would work?

- Create page design and slices in Fireworks/Photoshop
- Slice design
- Create css divs in sculptor and then insert the slices in the divs?

Possibly, but you would have to know what you were doing and you could certainly create some layouts that would be difficult to pull off.

Technically that is how we do it in some respects, but some things are done with actual layer borders, margins, and other settings that aren't as simple as slicing and setting bgimages.

Thanks Ray,

I just bit the bullet and purchased the design suite ...... guess I'll find out what it can do. ;-)
