Existing sites after installing bridge

Existing sites after installing bridge

I have more than 70 sites that use data assist, some that use ecart, some that use security assist, and many that use all. I've not yet upgraded to DBridge, but plan to shortly.

What I am seeking to understand that once installed, how are the legacy sites going to be affected. For instance, my data assist systems use html editor for for some of the fields. If a client requests additional fields to have html editor applied to an existing WA update page, what will happen? Will I need to recreate all my sites' admin area (WA, SA, html Ed, etc)? What can I expect to occur once DB is installed?

Thanks

On Install, legacy sites will not be effected at all.

They will only be effected if you make edits to them using Data Bridge.

Right now, there is a known bug with editing the insert and update behaviors from data assist 2, but we will be releasing an update soon to correct that problem.

it is always a good idea to make a backup of your site before making any changes.

You can always set up a new user on your computer, and under that user install the standalone extensions, use that user for making edits and use your current user for any new sites you create

"They will only be effected if you make edits to them using Data Bridge."

Yes, this is what I am asking. Besides bugs you are working on, what will be involved to make edits on existing sites? Will I need to rebuild the systems from scratch?

Thanks Jason.

that's a very large question, and it really depends on the version of the extension that was used initially.

Security assist v1 functionality wont need to be recreated for example, but iRite or HTML Editor 2 functionality would need to be recreated. There is no one answer to the question you ask.

Ah... OK. So each site will have its own limitations. So, let's try this question from another angle. Suppose a recently built site, say this month, using all the latest upgrades, which I try to do faithfully, is going to need an edit. What will I encounter?

Thanks
