Inventory control tutorial

Is there a tutorial for using eCart for inventory control? That is, I have 20 widgets in stock. A customer orders 2, so eCart updates the database to show there are now 18 in stock.

No, there is no a tutorial for this.

it requires hand coding to accomplish this task, depending on the payment gateway you use the process will be different. for a local payment gateway option, you would need to add code to the confirm page to loop through the cart items and update the stock column of the products table for each one.
