Powerstore in the UK

Powerstore in the UK

With the first release of powerstore, I got quite excited thinking I was on easy street, but that was short lived when I found out that the store is built for the US market. It was purely geared up to take payments through the US PayPal portal... so, that was no good to me.

With the second release of power store I looked through all documentation only to find that the only supported currency is the US dollar again!!

Surely you have enough non-US customers to implement a process of being able to allow a store to take payments in the UK or France or wherever a payment needs to be taken. Could it not be done with a simple cut down extension based on e-cart? You don't need to be able to build a cart from scratch with the extension, but just allow a user to input their payment gateway details, username/password, etc. If it can't be done with an extension, then it could be done with an include file at least.

There is obviously some ability to personalise the store as the store must be able to send an order confirmation to both customer and store owner, so why stop there?

Thank you for the suggestion. Conversion to UK is relatively simple with eCart, but you are correct that we could expose it as a simple Global to make UK user's lives easier.

I will note that as a feature request. We would have to include some more UK payment gateways and shipping providers and test on servers with different number formats to be sure it was working correctly. This is a good suggestion for a future update.

I had thin in version1 but sorted it

Hello,
I am in the UK also.
had a problem with this in version 1.
Ray sorted it for me so transactions were in pounds.
There is a thread in the Powerstore forum, but what Ray go me to do is below, Take a look at the thread. Ray says should work with version 2

RAY SAID
Right... open up the page:

WA_eCart/Checkout/paypal.php

Then you will see on lines 46-47:

$PP_DirectPayment_required[0][$nextIndex] = "Currency";
$PP_DirectPayment_required[1][$nextIndex] = "USD";

update it to GBP.

Same thing on pp_confirm.php... lines 286-287:

$WA_PP_ECO_Do_optional[0][$nextIndex] = "Currency";
$WA_PP_ECO_Do_optional[1][$nextIndex] = "USD";

same thing. Then the last place is on the checkout page... lines 55-56 for me but I might have a different version:

$WA_PP_ECO_Set_params[0][$nextIndex] = "Currency";
$WA_PP_ECO_Set_params[1][$nextIndex] = "USD";

same update. That should get your currency working.

So, based on what you say Ray, I can make the changes with e-cart which I already own?

If that is the case, am I able to also implement the features such as discounts etc with e-cart?

Please Ray, don't forget Euro currency and French Shipping providers.
I am now having a very hard time configuring myself Powerstore2 for France.
