Only Error when trying to create Charts

Hello,

I am trying to use the Dynamic Web Charts tool to create some graphs for data that we have collected on behalf of a client so that I can give them a view of the results we have created. However every time I try and add a chart to a webpage and attempt to preview the webpage the flash object keeps showing similar messages like

"/DynamicWebCharts/Data/chart_dataparser1.asp?"

This is even happening when I tried using the default static values that show up in the wizard. I had found another post that looked similar to my issue until the point where it talked about the fact that static data was working. Based on that post I have tried looking to see if path's may or may not be an issue. Rather then doing things in a sub folder of my test website I went to the root folder to add a chart to a test page. But the results have so far been the same.

Does any one have any ideas what might be causing this issue?

It sounds like maybe you haven't uploaded that page... make sure you have uploaded all of the files in the DynamicWebCharts folder.

If you continue to have problems, post a URL where I can view it and I can try to track it down to tell you the cause. It is hard to say without investigating some.

I am developing directly on the server I am trying to run the Charts from. I have looked and the full DynamicWebCharts folder is in the path on the server and all the files contained on it are also on the server.

The URL for my most recent attempt at getting a chart to work is:

Chart2.asp

I look forward to any help you can provide.

Also another example that is giving issues is chart.asp

Ok, I figured out what the problem is and I have it working. Somehow our webserver did not know how the resolve the address www.micronix.com. I added information to the hosts file (Maybe there is a better way to do this) and the charts are displaying now.

having the same probelm ../DynamicWebCharts/Data/invoice_selected_dataparser1.asp?

just bought the dynamic webcharts plugin. I'm working on IIS5 on an xp sp3 laptop and using asp. I get the same problem when I use a parameter.

I have created a connection through dreamweaver and selected a table from it. I have set up a filter:

invoiceno = url parameter invoiceno

invoiceno being a radio button in a form on the previous page (invoice_list.asp). selecting a different radio button will show a different invoice on the next page (invoice_selected.asp).

I keep getting ../DynamicWebCharts/Data/invoice_selected_dataparser1.asp? whether i use and url parameter or enter an invoice number

the file is in the specified folder. Can anyone shine a light on what the problem is?
thanks

Do you have a sample page? Simply adding a radio button to a page won't add it as a URL parameter, so it probably has something to do with how you set up that interaction. I can probably tell by looking at the url of the page demonstrating the problem.

parameter is stated

the parameter i am trying to pass to the 2nd page is the invoice number. the radio button has the invoice number as it's checked value. the same value as used in setting up the graph.

I will try and get a sample page up today for you have a look at; as currently it is on my laptop. thanks

When I view source where the chart is displayed I see:
"../DynamicWebCharts/open-flash-chart.swf?data=../DynamicWebCharts/Data/invoice_selected_dataparser1.asp?"

If you were passing the data properly it would look something like:

"../DynamicWebCharts/open-flash-chart.swf?data=../DynamicWebCharts/Data/invoice_selected_dataparser1.asp?PERIOD=200904"

also it appears there may be a bad path on the include file. Look at the error when viewign the page directly:

invoice_selected_dataparser1.asp

Maybe find and replace the instances of that page reference, and see if it works.
