Captcha and Question accept anything

Hi

I am trying out CSS Form Builder 2 and have successfully made a contact form (see URL
contact.php) However I find that I can enter anything into either the Captcha box and or the Question box. Any ideas as to how this can be corrected?

Regards

Peter

the action of your form is to post to the formmail.php page

All form processing must occur on the forms action page

this means that you need to apply the validation for captcha and the security question to the formmail.php page

Thanks for your reply but now I get an error message when I try to use the bindings panel.
(see attachment)

I have mentioned this before, but nothing seems to have happened, and believe that WebAssist need to take this matter up with Adobe as a matter of urgency. When installing many of your extensions we are asked "Whether or not we want to overwrite a new file. If we say No we are expected to repeat this exercise for innumerable files - often on 50 plus occasions.

This is a nonsense and an insult to those who pay serious money for both Adobe products and your own. Who in their right mind would want to overwrite a newer existing file with an older one that the extension being installed offers? There needs to be a "No for all" feature just as there is a facilty to overwrite all. Please ask the powers that be to take up this absurdity with Adobe and get it resolved. WebAssist's normal response is just say "Yes to all", in other words overwrite NEWER files with older ones. Sorry Jason but that is simply not good enough nor is it sensible or correct advice.

Equally the common problem we often face that of the delete the Dreamweaver Cache file needs urgent attention. Often this does not resolve the issue and then WebAssist insult us yet again by telling us to uninstall and then re-install all our extensions. Are your staff aware of just how inconvenient this is and how much time it takes? Are WebAssist going to pay us for our time remedying a fault caused by yourselves and or Adobe?

These issues Jason require permanent solutions and should be addressed by either yourselves and or Adobe as a matter of urgency.

I trust that fellow WebAssist clients feel as I do and support the resolution of these two serious defects.

As the Manager of Technical support I believe you need to take up these matters with your seniors and get them resolved.

More detailed explanation requested

I note that you have referred my last comments but write to advise that I have now managed to resolve the access to CSS Form Builder 2 by deleting the Dreamweeaver cache
file uninstalling and reinstalling the extension.

I then moved to you explanation of how to get the Captcha and Security question issues resolved but have not had any success. Could somebody at WebAssist do a video, or elongated explanation as to how to saay get the Captcha to work. If either the Captcha or the Security question were commented upon in depth, then I feel sure that it would be easy to resolve the other field element.

There are no books, that I have seen, that describe in detail how to undertake this process.

As regards my previous concerns re writing old files over new files, the default should be No I do not want to overwrite a new file with an older one - maybe an easier way of expalining what I requested.

Post telephone chat

Hi Jason

Have you seen the entry I have made on my private message zone after we spoke last night?

Last night I spoke to the host providers and they cannot offer me a BaseDir switched to OFF because it would cause security issues. They were surprised that you had asked them to do so.

They then sent a second email saying, from memory, that there was a coding fault on line 125 where the "faulty" file was trying to open a non existent file. They believe this is the cause of the captcha image not showing and suiggested that WebAssist would correct this matter - hopefully quickly.

I would appreciate a prompt response.

line 125 is looking for the font file:
MOM_T___.TTF

it looks like the webassist/captcha/Fonts/ folder has not been uploaded to the server.

make sure to upload the entire webassist folder to the server.

A typo in forms files

Hi Jason

The image now shows but I have lost what we did last night by trying to remedy a typo I discovered on the form.

In the question invalid state it says "Incorrect repsonse - please try again"

I have now ended up with the corrected form i.e. "response" but it is showing all the time.

I believe that this error is in all the forms and will need your technicians to rectify it and issue a new version of this extension. Please advise me when this has been done so that I can uninstall the current version and install the amended one.
