News pod confusion

News pod confusion

I am not understanding how to use the "news pod" on 4.5 PS. Attached are screen shots. I think I have made a news item, but they are not showing up on the front page. There is a "read more" link but it goes to a blank result (store/page.php?News= ).

Attaching screen shots including a database with todays date of a news item that I attempted to add. Any guidance most appreciated.

Looking at your screen shot of the content management system, You have some corruption going on. about ha;f way up, you have a new template, that should be under the new pod. When you create a new page from the news template, that will be shown in the news pod on the index page.

see the following thread for an sql script to recreate the news content section:
showthread.php?t=20884

yes, open MyPHPAdmin. select the power store database, select the contents table, then go the query tab and paste the query in that file into the query tag and click go.

This is making me nervous. Let me restate so I don't destroy months of work.

Select pss4_contents
Use the SQL tab
in the Run SQL copy the news.sql file that starts with these lines:

DELETE FROM ps4_contents WHERE ContentID IN (44,43,80,83,86,125,128,131,45,46,81,84,87,126,129,132,4,21,79,82,85,124,127,130,41);

INSERT INTO `ps4_contents` (`ContentID`,`ContentGroup`,`ContentRefID`,`ContentValue`,`ContentDate`,`ContentUserID`,`ContentPageName`,`ContentPageSetParentID`,`ContentPageSetOrder`,`ContentType`,`ContentParentGroup`)
VALUES
(44, 'Article 1',

if you are nervous you can always save a back up of the table before running the sql.
