Automatically create new pages

Thread began 7/07/2009 8:13 am by paul.urgero235355 | Last modified 7/07/2009 8:38 am by paul.urgero235355 | 1605 views | 2 replies |

Automatically create new pages

Is there a way with Data Assist admin pages, to have my client be able to automatically insert/generate new pages as they need, based on a Template file?

If they need to link an existing page to a new page with new content that they can enter in the admin section, is it possible?

Thanks
Paul

Isn't that kind of what DataAssist does? I mean it doesn't literally create a new page, but it creates a different version of the page based on database content.

I don't think I quite understand what you are asking. DataAssist won't help you literally create a new page, but if you have a database driven page it will allow you to insert records that will in return create what appears to be new pages from a template from an administrative section.

Did this help? Tips are appreciated...

If the client has a page of "social events"...and they add a new event to that page, but want to link it to a details page of its own, they can edit the content of the events page and add the new informatin, but what they want to do is have it create a NEW page for the NEW event details, automatically.

I don't think it can do it, so I told them I would create 5-6 "unlinked" pages, add them to their admin section, and they can just use them as they need them.

Thanks, Ray.
