Customization

Using PS4, I need to add more information to the product information pages. I can add fields in the database to contain the information that I need, no problem. What I haven't figured out yet is the structure of the pages in order to do some edits.

What I want to do is to add fields in the products. Object is to add "If you like this product, you may also be interested in these." So three fields that contain another product id, code the page to show the thumbnail from that id, a link to that product id page. But where in this system would I do this? Lots of templates and includes.

Other elements I want to add are "Review this product" using a new table etc.

Is there a "map" of how all these elements work together so I can do more customization? Is what I want to do even possible?

The power store database is pretty similar to the free eCommerce database, there is a diagram that explains the table relationships on the eCommerce database product page:

the modifications you are talking about are certainly possible, but you will need a good understanding of MySQL and PHP to accomplish.
While the modifications are possible, they are not supported. We will not be able to provide assistance in implementing these modifications.

Thank you very much!

I added a new field to the products list on my ps4 set up, then entered some content to test...I think this page will be what I'm looking for...

plugins>catalog>details.php

I am solid with the database, but not clear on all your templates, includes. I was seeking some map of how the pages are tied to each other...but I'll take another look at the tuts.

Yeah, there is not a map that goes through how each page is tied together, this information will not be included in the tutorials.

the pages under the webassist/plugins folder are the pages that actually display data to the site browser.

The pages under the templates folder, are for design purposes.
