blank page even with error reporting on

I was so excited I finally got eCart to work and actually placed an order with Authorize.net,
BUT then I just changed some css on the cart.php page, and now I only see a blank browser window, and I added:
<?php
error_reporting(E_ALL);
ini_set('display_errors','on');
?>
at line 1, and it's still blank.

I attached the file. Please help, as I was so glad to have it working I sent an email to the client telling him to check it out, and now I look foolish...

can you post a link where i can see the problem? the error may be in the page source.

There is also a space after the closing ?> of the error reporting block, which will itself cause an error.

Amazing, I've always been told that spaces don't matter in source code.

Sometimes they don't. It depends on the code,and where the space is. It is fairly well documented in this forum that a trailing space after a closing php block can cause errors (particularly 'Headers already sent' errors), so it seemed possible/likely that the trailing space after the error reporting block at the beginning of your page was preventing error reporting from writing the original error(s) to the page.

What happens if you remove the trailing space then upload and access your page?

Removing the space did the trick! How did you even notice there was a space there?

I checked for it it the page you attached earlier (Having fallen foul of the same thing several times myself).

Does this mean that you are now able to read the error messages and diagnose the problem, or that the page is working as it should now?
