Database starter kit PHP

I recently purchased Super Suite I need to take my clients static site and convert to a dynamic site. My client has a growing products list. We do NOT need ecommerce, because we do not sell online. I plan to build a database that contains all the products (400+). Also I want to have a simple Content Managment page so that my client can update there products database themselves in the future.

I donwloaded the Database Starter Kit PHP. However, when I click in the "Database_Starter_Kit_PHP" folder on the "start.htm" file to begin the tutorial I only get a blue screen that says "Adobe Captivate" in the center. Nothing loads.
Can you please assist me with getting this information? Also, if you have any other helpful tutorials you can recommend, I would greatly appreciate the help.
One other question: The current site is html. The new products pages will be in PHP. Can you mix the two? Or would you recommend making all pages PHP pages, even the pages that will remain static?

Thank you for your help,
DT

have you set up a local testing server for your php pages ?

in order to view php, this needs to be done first.

there are a few tutorials within these forums about setting up your internet server, php and database.

resources.php

in answer to your second question, you can mix php and static html no problem

start.htm

I'm trying to access the tutorial to learn how to get started.
The file start.htm actually is trying to pull up Flash files (swfs) not PHP files.
The "start.htm" file is located in the folder "Database_Starter_Kit_PHP" which is located in the folder "DBSK_PHP"

When I click "start.htm" I get a Adobe Captivate loading symbol. But nothing loads.
When I try to open one of the SWF files, for example: "01 Overview.swf"
I get the message below.
******** CaptivateMainTimeline ********
CaptivateMainTimeline::ExternalInterface is available
frame2 movie.m_startPlaying
done frame2 true

Do you have this tutorial available on your server so that I can access the it that way?

Thanks for your help,
Danielle

I'm getting a similar issue, but when i drag the swf file to the browser it plays correctly.

Try dragging the swf file to your browser.
