Transactions with PayPal Express Checkout

Thread began 11/24/2010 11:50 am by henrik.schlegel400884 | Last modified 11/24/2010 5:40 pm by Dani Chankhour | 772 views | 1 replies |

Transactions with PayPal Express Checkout

I am going to use PayPal Express Checkout on a site selling digital downloads.

I have set up all the necessary pages for that using super suite and your Ho to's etc.
and I am testing now with PayPal's sandbox.

As I believe PayPal Express Checkout is processing transactions in real time.

Does that mean that - if the transaction is succesful - and the pp_checkout_success.php page appears - the transaction is already completed? And I can offer a link on that page to the Download Center?

So there is no need to setup an IPN or something like that?

In my PayPal Sandbox Seller Teststore the payment status is "Under Review".
Is that because of the testing environment?
Would in a Live Account the status be "completed"?

Thank you very much for any help!

Yes. If you are redirected to the Success Page, then the order was successful and you can view the download link to the user.

If the order status is not showing as complete on PayPal it indicates that you will need to take further actions to approve the order.

And I don't believe an IPN page is necessary although you can set up an IPN page if you don't want users to have immediate access to the download link unless the PayPal order status is set to Complete.
