Css Menu fails to process menu

Css Menu fails to process menu

When I click the finish button, a 'WebAssist Site Tools' pop-up box appears on the screen to signal that the process of creating the menu has commenced. However, it seems to freeze or stop at the 'initializing' stage - nothing further happens. Can you help?

have you tried deleting the Dreamweaver cache file from the users configuration folder:
common_installation_issues.pdf

what version of Dreamweaver are you using?

What is your OS?

Jason - Yes, I deleted the cache and restarted Dreamweaver and it is still doing the same thing. I am using CS3 and Windows XP Professional - Mike

What is the build of Dreamweaver?

Go to Help -> About Dreamweaver.

when the about dialog opens, click it once to scroll to the end, the build number will be listed there, please post that back.

Build 3453 is a pre release beta build. This build has a bug that was resent in the beta release that causes floater panels not to function correctly, the site tools is in a floater panel so it is being effected by this bug that was present during DWCS3 beta testing.

The official release build of DW CS3 was build 3481, you will build 3481 in order for menu writer the function properly.

Should I use CSS Menu Writer 1 instead of version 2?

Jason ByrnesWebAssist

you will have the same issue with menu writer 1, it is a Dreamweaver bug that was present in the beta release that is causing the issue.

It used to be that you could download the CS3 Demo version to get the release build, but they only have the currant version available as a demo download on the adobe site. you could always use the CS5 demo version.
