can't launch dw cs5... an extension issue?

Over the past 3 weeks, since upgrading to CS5 on a Mac, at least once a week, I have to rename my configuration file in order to launch DW. This is a posted subject on Adobe, with many solutions, but to make it work for me, I just am renaming my config file, then have to reinstall all my WA extensions...

But I am wondering if I am not doing something correct in WA. I thought I reinstalled all CS5 extensions. Is this a DW / Mac issue, or a WA issue, since 90% of my extensions are WA. Any insight, most appreciated....

I am losing at least an hour a week over this issue... any thought?

Biz,

I am on Mac with CS5 and have every WA extension plus a few others and have no issue.

So, I am wondering what are your other extensions? Also, one trick would be instead of actually renaming the config file, I think you try opening the extension manager and disabling all of your non-WA extensions. Then enable one at a time - starting Dreamweaver after each one.

One more thing while I am thinking about it... have you downloaded the latest releases from WA which are all certified for CS5. If you haven't downloaded the new versions, that perhaps could cause a problem.

Regards,

Brian

A good point on new cs5... I will do that tomorrow for all and see it that helps. Thank for the tip.

The only files that load with dreamweaver are in the folders /Configuration/Startup and possibly Configuration/Floaters...

Maybe try renaming those to _temp versions and open Dreamweaver. If dreamweaver opens, then close it and rename the folders back to their original names. Oddly enough I've seen this work before and once Dreamweaver loads once without them it loads fine with them the second time.
