Type mismatch: 'URLencode'

Thread began 6/07/2009 4:15 pm by paul.urgero235355 | Last modified 6/08/2009 8:43 am by Ray Borduin | 6055 views | 3 replies |

Paul

Type mismatch: 'URLencode'

I've created an additional page to a website that I haven't touched in about a year...

I created a new table in Access, uploaded it, checked it and I can see my test text on the live page...no problem.

Now I'm trying to create the admin page, and on the results.asp page, I get this:

Microsoft VBScript runtime error '800a000d'

Type mismatch: 'URLencode'

/dbadmin/EventsDesc_Results.asp, line 581

Here is line 581:
<a href="EventsDesc_Detail.asp?Description=<%=(WADAEvents.Fields.Item("Description").Value)%>" title="View"><img border="0" name="View<%=(WADAEvents.Fields.Item("Description").Value)%>" id="View<%=Server.URLEncode((WADAEvents.Fields.Item("Description").Value))%>" alt="View" src="../WA_DataAssist/images/Slate/Refined_zoom.gif" /></a>

I updated dataAssist and Irite to the latest versions. I'm using DWCS4.

Appreciate the help.
Thanks

This is probably an issue with the ASP Recordset cursor and memo fields. Are any of these fields memo fields? I think this is probably as a result of dreamweaver updating the recordset code and not webassist extensions or functionality.

As usual Ray...you hit it on the head. But isn't a Memo field able to accept more input data than a text field? I need it to take at least a full page of a Word doc at any time.

Also, as I go through the admin page, I click on the update button and I get this:

Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers error '80040e07'

[Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver] Data type mismatch in criteria expression.

/dbadmin/EventsDesc_Detail.asp, line 37

Line 37: Set WADAEvents = WADAEvents_cmd.Execute

Thanks

I think you can add code to update the cursor to work with memo fields.

I also think you can get a memo field value once and then can't get the value after, so you can store it in a variable on top of your page.
