Ho do I change the character set

Ho do I change the character set

I've added Powerassist for a client, unfortunately I think I selected the incorrect cahracter set as £ (GB Pounds are not displaying). When I set up the database with my ISP I selected the Default charset acii(USASCII). I then ran the "installation Wizzard" and also specified acii(USASCII). I have been able to log on the ISP through my Control Panel and change this to UTF-8. (As my pages use this Character set)

a. Is UTF-8 th correct character set?
b. Is there a way to access the installation wizzard to change the character set, without re-installing, or is there a file I can change manually?
c. Is there another reason why the £ symbol i snot displaying?

Thank you for you help...

You should check the encoding of the db and tables in it as well as the character set encoding on the pages that will display this data. You should be able to access your db and check these character sets directly and make updates to them. You will probably also see this information in the .sql file that is in the default files that you download. Once all of the character sets match for UTF-8 then the characters should all display correctly for you.

The pound character should display in ASCII as far as I know, but UTF-8 should definitely allow this character and many others to be displayed.
