Why does an information window open upon map load?

Why does an information window open upon map load?

I have created a map generated from a record set. I am using a 'click' event handler rather than 'mouseover/mouseout' but, for some reason, when my map loads it opens an information window for the first record in the recordset.

How can I prevent this from happening? It causes my map to re-center if I zoom any closer due to the text box opening.

Here is the URL for the site: view_ranges.php

Cheers

in the google_javascripts/wagmp_map_1.php file, find code similar to the following :

if('address_0_0' == 'address_0_0')
marker_0_0.openInfoWindowHtml(address_0_0.infowindowtext);
}

and delete it, if you have difficulty finding the line referenced, send a copy of the file and will let you know what line numbers.

Thanks Jason,

Is the point of that code block to automatically open the infobox on record(0)?

For some reason, I don't remember that on my other maps. It would be a nice feature to be able to disable ;-)

yes, that is the purpose of that code.

If you enable driving directions, the ifo window will not display on load.

Thanks Jason.

That worked perfectly. I was able to remove the code and now the map responds as expected.

I'd love to see a lot of these options placed into an include file where they can be edited. I've moved about 6 of them into an include file for my maps. Things like resetting map center and zoom level if an address cannot be found, coordinates, mouseover VS click, etc. That would allow changing them in one location rather than the usual 3-4 locations in the code.
