Captcha image and Text missing

URGENT!

I cannot see neither the Captcha image nor the code text... on the users_regisrtation.php page or the WAVT_CaptchaSecurityImages.php in a browser on my iMAC. The WA_Globals ...font="Fonts/MACTYPE.TTF" is set.

Where else should I look to correct this?

Do you have a link where this can be seen? I found this thread with a very similar issue that was responded to by Jason:

showthread.php?t=11169&highlight=captcha

Have you checked on the value of the font attribute to see what the path is? Please post back with a link and let us know what you discover about the font value.

Captcha image missing

I'm developing on my MacBook so you won't be able to view my files. I cannot proceed until the missing Gotcha image is resolved. I'll try to include files that may have some impact.

My phpinfo() does show GD is instaled:

libJPEG Version 6b

My WA_globals file:

<?php
$WAGLOBAL_Root_URL = "http://localhost/UserRegistration100/" ;
$WAGLOBAL_Captcha_Width = "200" ;
$WAGLOBAL_Captcha_Height = "40" ;
$WAGLOBAL_Captcha_Characters = "5" ;
$WAGLOBAL_Captcha_Font = "WA_ValidationToolkit/Fonts/MOM_T___.TTF" ;
$WAGLOBAL_Captcha_BG = "ffffff" ;
$WAGLOBAL_Captcha_Noise = "000000" ;
$WAGLOBAL_Captcha_Text = "000000" ;
$WAGLOBAL_Captcha_BG_transparent = "0" ;
$WAGLOBAL_Email_Server = "" ;
$WAGLOBAL_Verification_Email_Subject = "Email Verification" ;
$WAGLOBAL_Verification_Email_FROM = "randyrie@comcast.net" ;
$WAGLOBAL_Verification_Email_CC = "" ;
$WAGLOBAL_Verification_Email_BCC = "" ;
$WAGLOBAL_Registration_Email_Subject = "Welcome to our site" ;
$WAGLOBAL_Registration_Email_FROM = "randyrie@comcast.net" ;
$WAGLOBAL_Registration_Email_CC = "" ;
$WAGLOBAL_Registration_Email_BCC = "" ;
$WAGLOBAL_Password_Email_Subject = "Your Forgotten Password" ;
$WAGLOBAL_Password_Email_FROM = "randyrie@comcast.net" ;
$WAGLOBAL_Password_Email_CC = "" ;
$WAGLOBAL_Password_Email_BCC = "" ;
$WAGLOBAL_Admin_UserName = "xxx" ;
$WAGLOBAL_Admin_Password = "xxx" ;
?>

The img src tag on my userRegistration.php page:
<img src="WA_ValidationToolkit/WAVT_CaptchaSecurityImages.php?noisecolor=<?php echo $WAGLOBAL_Captcha_Noise; ?>&bgcolor=<?php echo $WAGLOBAL_Captcha_BG; ?>&textcolor=<?php echo $WAGLOBAL_Captcha_Text; ?>&transparent=<?php echo $WAGLOBAL_Captcha_BG_transparent; ?>&characters=<?php echo $WAGLOBAL_Captcha_Characters; ?>&width=<?php echo $WAGLOBAL_Captcha_Width; ?>&height=<?php echo $WAGLOBAL_Captcha_Height; ?>&font=<?php echo $WAGLOBAL_Captcha_Font; ?>" alt="security code" />

Please let me know how I can resolve this or I'll need to request a refund... I didn't expect this type of an issue with $100 software.

neilo

Could you try using the true path to your folder in the Glaobals file i.e:

C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\UserRegistration100\ (or whatever your Mac path is)

rather than: UserRegistration100/

Still no luck. Here's my WA_Glbals with the file path:

$WAGLOBAL_Captcha_Width = "200" ;
$WAGLOBAL_Captcha_Height = "40" ;
$WAGLOBAL_Captcha_Characters = "5" ;
$WAGLOBAL_Captcha_Font = "Fonts/MACTYPE.TTF" ;
$WAGLOBAL_Captcha_BG = "ffffff" ;
$WAGLOBAL_Captcha_Noise = "000000" ;
$WAGLOBAL_Captcha_Text = "000000" ;
$WAGLOBAL_Captcha_BG_transparent = "0" ;
$WAGLOBAL_Email_Server = "localhost" ;
$WAGLOBAL_Verification_Email_Subject = "Email Verification" ;
$WAGLOBAL_Verification_Email_FROM = "rjr9@arl.psu.edu" ;
$WAGLOBAL_Verification_Email_CC = "" ;
$WAGLOBAL_Verification_Email_BCC = "" ;
$WAGLOBAL_Registration_Email_Subject = "Welcome to the xxx Website" ;
$WAGLOBAL_Registration_Email_FROM = "rjr9@arl.psu.edu" ;
$WAGLOBAL_Registration_Email_CC = "" ;
$WAGLOBAL_Registration_Email_BCC = "" ;
$WAGLOBAL_Password_Email_Subject = "Forgotten Password" ;

$WAGLOBAL_Password_Email_CC = "" ;
$WAGLOBAL_Password_Email_BCC = "" ;
$WAGLOBAL_Admin_UserName = "xxx" ;
$WAGLOBAL_Admin_Password = "xxx" ;
?>

Missing Captcha Image

OK... now I know this not a problem with my iMAC system's default OS setup. I installed MAMP on my iMAC and the image still does not display. I also installed the UserRegistration100 suite on a borrowed PC and and the Captcha image displays fine.

Any ideas about why the iMac won't display the image or what I should do to setup my iMAC so it does?

If you have it setup the same way on your mac as you do on the pc where it is working I'm not sure why you would not be able to see the captcha properly. When you preview the page locally on your mac do a view source of the page and post back with what you get. If we can't see the live page this will be the next best thing. When we can view the source we should have a better idea of the actual values that are being used for the captcha and not just what they have been set to. I imagine there will be some issue involving the values used in the source of the page.

Captcha Image and Text Missing

Attached (users_Registration.php.txt.zip) is the users_Registration.php's view source
(viewed via localhost on my Mac, OSX 10.6.2, using Firefox)
I really appreciate your persistent help on this, BTW.

If the source of your page is the same as you have posted I can see why you are having trouble viewing the captcha, in the code you posted the source for the captcha image looks like this:

{\field{\*\fldinst{HYPERLINK "view-source:http://127.0.0.1/UReg/WA_ValidationToolkit/WAVT_CaptchaSecurityImages.php?noisecolor=000000&bgcolor=ffffff&textcolor=000000&transparent=0&characters=5&width=200&height=40&font=WA_ValidationToolkit/Fonts/MACTYPE.TTF"}}{\fldrslt \cf2 \ul \ulc2 WA_ValidationToolkit/WAVT_CaptchaSecurityImages.php?noisecolor=000000&bgcolor=ffffff&textcolor=000000&transparent=0&characters=5&width=200&height=40&font=WA_ValidationToolkit/Fonts/MACTYPE.TTF}}

It should look like this:

"WA_ValidationToolkit/WAVT_CaptchaSecurityImages.php?noisecolor=000000&bgcolor=ffffff&textcolor=000000&transparent=0&characters=5&width=200&height=40&font=WA_ValidationToolkit/Fonts/MACTYPE.TTF"

So it seems that you may have something going on with your browser that is not allowing the images to be displayed properly. The same goes for the register button, it's source looks similar. Do you have another browser that you can use to view this page on your MAC? If the source for this image points to the correct location it should show the captcha without issue.

Please also post back with a copy of this page from your Mac, I would like to see the default source code for it that you have.
