Receiving an e-mail when a record is uploaded to my database by a website visitor

I want my website visitors to be able to, with the press of one submit button, do all of the following: (1) upload information to my database; (2) upload a file to my site; and (3) send me an e-mail letting me know that they submitted their information.

I'm using DataAssist to allow my website visitors to (1) upload information to my database (through an insert record page); and I'm using Digital File Pro (in tandem with DataAssist) to allow my website visitors to (2) simultaneously upload a file to my website. [Thanks for the excellent WebAssist tutorial on how to make these two programs work in tandem.]

Is there a way to (3) simultaneously get an e-mail sent to me, alerting me to the fact that someone uploaded info to my database and uploaded a file to my website?

Yes, you can use Universal Email to send the email.

Make sure that the Insert record behavior is not set to redirect to another page, then add Universal Email to your page.

steps to add universal e-mail to an upload page

Thank you Jason. I'm still new to Universal Email, so forgive my ignorance. Can you point me to the section of the Universal Email help menu that would describe how to add Universal Email to my Upload page, or can you step me through the process?

There is no documentation specific to adding Universal Email to an Upload page.

the Help Documentation for Universal Email is available here:

First, you will need to modify the Insert Record server behavior to make sure it does not redirect. Go to window -> Server Behaviors to open the server behaviors panel, then double click the Insert Record behavior and unset the Redirect after insert option.

to add Universal Email, go to Insert -> WebAssist -> Universal Email.
