Need Help with Copy Security Features to existing Forms

Need Help with Copy Security Features to existing Forms

My Question

I am copying the security features to my existing form I have created in DW-8, The page and current form is not PHP, the extension is .html so I changed the page extension to .php.

Then I tested it by putting in a in-correct security number and hit submit and it sends the form anyway when it should not.

Can you tell me where I may have did something wrong with copying and pasting the code in your PDF instructions "How To Copy Security Features to my existing Form"

Or does "existing Form" assume that your form is written in PHP? My form is not, it was created in DW-8 to work with formmail.pl

Jim Hatley

If the action of the form is to post to the formmail.pl file, then the validation code will never have a chance to run. When a form is posted, it sends the information directly to the action page. you will not be able to use the security features on a form that posts to a pearl script.

Copy Security Features to existing Forms

Please advise how to make this work, I'm new to PHP.

Thanks,
Jim

You will need to use a php application such as universal Email for sending the mail instead of the pearl script.

universal Email will be applied to the same page as the form so that the form will post to itself. This will allow the validation code to process and the email to be sent.

See the "Creating an HTML email" Tutorial in the Solution recipes section of the Universal Email support page:
