Cart disappears after filling customer address information

Cart disappears after filling in customer address information
I have a thorny problem with the checkout on one of my websites. When a customer checks out at reptilesncritters.com, after they fill in their address, clicking the next button makes the cart disappear. I have spent several fruitless hours trying to fix this on my own, all to no avail. I have several other websites that use the same code and I do not have any problems with. If you can help me fix this problem I would greatly appreciate it.

Thank you,
Robert Crespo

They are probably starting at reptilesncritters.com and returning to www.reptilesncritters.com or vice versa... The two versions of the site would have different carts and therefor would be blank on return. The solution is to force use of one or the other so they stay on the same site and have the same cart. You can usually do this from your hosting control panel, or can do it with an .htaccess file.

Ray, thank you for responding to my issue. However, I do not think it is an https issue as the entire checkout process happens over https://www.reptilesncritters.com/

Additionally, the disappearing cart issues happens happens when I am testing locally with MAMP. Could it be something else? Some misconfigured file?

I'd probably have to do screen sharing and debug it. There may be code on the page causing the issue. I see what you mean... The cart isn't actually cleared when you go to the cart page you can still see the content.

I see some javascript errors on the checkout page that are probably the issue. If you send me FTP information I'll take a look and try to get it corrected for you.

Ray, I would appreciate the extra help. Please see the private message for the FTP details.

I can do the screen share with you anytime you are ready. I NEED to getting glitch fixed as it's costing me money when my customers see their cart disappears.

Ray, did you get a chance to look into this disappearing cart issue? I checked the FTP credentials I private messaged you and they work. You have access to all of the files. Thank you.

Ray, after many hours I was able to fix the problem. How? By uploading my backup files from November 2021. I have no clue which file, or series of files was corrupted.

Sorry I wasn't able to look at it because the FTP information didn't work for me yesterday.

I just tried again now and the FTP still doesn't work. I copied and pasted from the message above and I get a bad username or password error.

Ray, no problem. It was already late on a Friday and I know that you have to help other people to help.

I have a new problem, however. I just migrated by website, BugBitingPlants.com to a new web host. Now the checkout is not working properly. After the customer adds their credit card information and clicks submit, the confirm_cart.php page gets unattached from the checkout.php page. What could be going on you think?

I'll need FTP information and a URL to debug. I'm sure it is an error somewhere, but it is too hard to tell what it is without looking at it in context.
