installation problems

I bought the super suite hoping it would save me time but I cannot even get it to run. I have not registered any serials as when I try open open any menu, if anything happens at all which is rare, I get a box that say "error 3" at the end of several paths ending with a file that ends with .js which I assume is a java script issue. Very disappointed :( I am hoping you can help asap. Running CS6 Dreamweaver and I have already tried uninstalling and reinstalling. I also thought installation would be easy and that one serial would launch entire suite. Please advise asap. Thank you.

It sounds like the WebAssist installer is not running to complete the installation.

After you install the extension in the extension manager, when you open DW, it should launch the WebAssist Installer.

If that does not launch automatically, open a PHP page, that should force it to run.

After the WebAssist installer completes, make sure to restart DW.

will give that a try

I will uninstall all extension and try again as you say. Because there are 5 installers it leaves me a bit confused... do you install each separately and complete installation and them move to the next or can you install all of them back to back? If back to back before starting DW is there an order and even if you do them one at a time, is there an order? It would behoove you to clearly create a "step-by-step" installation procedure with a list of issues so that others don't have to go through this forum process. If you happen to have such a set of instructions and I can't find them it's not for a want of looking. I find this all very frustrating.

you can install all of the extensions in the extension manger, then open DW to have the web assist installer run, it will run for each extension.

then restart DW.

we'll give it a try :)

I'll try again tonight and post my workflow once I get it accomplished successfully. Thank you for you assistance. I gather that the order that I install them makes no difference whatsoever?

BTW this procedure is what I have done several time swith no success. Is it a matter of just doing it over and over again until it sticks???

Oh, as long as I'm asking... did I read it wrong when I purchased the super suite I thought I had read that you get to install the entire set of extentions with one serial? I note that there are four (4) serials one for each set ... will it ask for each number as it proceeds through the installation process. Also, if it does begin ti insatll as you say it is meant to, will there be a status bar that shows progress or am I just to trust that it is actually doing something? I have had instanses where I have waited patiently for literally hours and hours only to discover that the installation has failed. Something like that does not sound like a big deal but in practice it is a huge problem. CHeers. :)

Was able to install after uninstalling all extentions and starting over. I started with Data only and when it did begin after opening a new PHP file, a small weassist window opened with a 3 step process indicated. It proceeded to download file for data bridge, instal and then asks to restart dreamweaver which is step 3. After that it rather oddly went through a similar process for the other extenstions which I had not yet installed. Upon completion I looked to see that none of the other extentions had been installed and so I proceeded to install each sperately. Each addition ext when through the same process but in these further cases it did not continue to appear to do any other installation other then itself. There is no status bar that indicated progress but the steps proceed relatively quickly so if it has not moved on from step one after 10 mins or so i'd say there was a proble. One additional note was that to enter the serials you have to open some element of the extention which was fine for all but the MySQLi extentions as I don't know what exactly whould instigate that extention. I'm planning to ask the forum host in my next message. Looking forward to finally "using" the extentions as I've spent far to much time simply installing them... :) Still, It;s all good, you can"t work in this game and not expect this sort of thing! :)

Super Suite does not one serial numbness to activate, it uses a separate serial number for each extensions.

After you install the extensions, and open DW to run the WebAssist installer and restart. you then need to Define a Dynamic site in DW, and have a PHP page open from the dynamic site before you start using the extensions.

as you use them, you will be prompted to activate them.

the final step of registyering the serials

I was able to enter all the serials except the MySQLi one as I no wsee that I will have to follow your previous instructions and define a dynamic site first. Looking forward to getting under way with my new projects. Thank you for your assistance. Please forgive my appearant frustration (which was real of course) as I do not like to express my frustrations in that sort of way. Of course, I have my excises (I'mubder a deadline, my allergies are irritating me, there is strife in the home due to troubling teens, the dog needs walking tec...) The fact is that no one including myself has any excuse for their behavior and I accpet that I was a bit grumply and I appologize. I appreciate your help and just wnat to say that it is a blesiing that tis sort of thing is the level of my problems in mu otherwise charmed life! Thank you again. :)
