help with ecart

help with ecart

Can you please help me.
I have set up my cart and it seems to be working ok . But three problems.

1. I am using Australia post for my shipping option and when i go through the shopping cart wizard i add in a dynamic length, width and height. But when i test it on my server it does not work. If i put n the length ,width , hieght in the shopping cart wizard as just numbers it works.

2. Cant find the area to change the unit to change cm , mm , m.

3. from the display manger page in my website that shows total, tax , shipping cost, ect i am having trouble with the shipping cost. after i go through the process of going through the confirm page then exit out of the browser i have a problem. The next time i log on to the website to buy a product the shipping cost from the old transaction is still left there in shipping colloum and total coloum. How do i stop this cost from showing up every time i go to the diplay manager page on my shopping cart.

many thanks for your time

1) This suggests that the dynamic bindings you are using are ot getting a value.

what dynamic bindings are you using?

2) On the confirm page, double click the eCart Australia post server behavior to make changes like changing the weight units.

3) Add the following code to the checkout success page after the </html> tag to clear the session after checking out:

// Initialize the session.
// If you are using session_name("something"), don't forget it now!

// Unset all of the session variables.
$_SESSION = array();

// If it's desired to kill the session, also delete the session cookie.
// Note: This will destroy the session, and not just the session data!
if (ini_get("session.use_cookies")) {
$params session_get_cookie_params();
setcookie(session_name(), ''time() - 42000,
$params["path"], $params["domain"],
$params["secure"], $params["httponly"]

// Finally, destroy the session.

stop shipping cost showing

Thank you so much for your quick reply

In answer to your response:

1 the dynamic bindings i'm using is a recordset that I use in dreamweaver. It works on all other pages of my website. The way I added the dynamic content of the width hight and length is. First I go to the display manger page that has the check out button on it. Next I click the check out wizard. Then that takes me through all the steps. When I get to postage I click the dynamic lighting bolt then my recordset shows up . I pick length then width then height. I have even tried to add a recordset to the confim.php page but it won't let me I get a java script error. I think what the problem could be is from the first page (display manager) where I ran the checkout wizard I don't have a specific value in the recordset. But I don't know how to pass the record set values to page to page ?????

2. The unit for the length width and height. I want it in cm not mm. I went to the confirm page, double click the eCart Australia post server behaviour but the options they give you are only to change the weight value (eg. KG g) there is no such option there for changing the cm m or ft.

3. The code you gave me seems to work. But what i really need is to only clear the sessions for the shipping cost on the display manager page even if they didn't proceed to completely purchase the item. As i find customers always proceed to buy a item but don't go through with the full sale. But just do it to see the full shipping cost and totals. What i need is a way so that when the customer lands on the display manger some sort of code clears the old shipping cost from the shipping price column and the total price column. Not after they have completed the full transaction.

I really appreciate your time and effort and look forward to a response

1) maybe a better tactic would be to use the Set Session Value behavior on the cart page to set a session value for each column, then use the session variables in the Checkout Wizard. to add a set session value behavior, open the server behaviors panel, click the lightning bolt and select eCart -> General -> Set Session Value.

2) Sorry, was mistaken in my original reply, I thought you where asking about whith measument, not length.

the Australian Post API does not support other length measurements, you must pass the length in MM.

3) Add the folloing code at line 1 of the cart display page:

<?php if(isset($_SESSION["yourCart_AusPost_Quote"])) unset($_SESSION["yourCart_AusPost_Quote"]); ?>

where "yourCart" is the name of your eCart object.
