Site Sculptor and CSS Menu Writer 2 - Workflow Question

Site Sculptor and CSS Menu Writer 2 - Workflow Question

I've created a custom template using css page sculptor and custom menus using css menu writer. I used Site Sculptor to enerated my site design without (emphasis added, without) content management since I don't need it for now.

Everything came together nicely and is working well on my local testing server. I've tested the remote server and the site settings are correct.

Now for my question. Can I enter css menu writer after the site has been generated with Site Sculptor?

I noticed several threads saying not to re-enter the Site Sculptor generated site using CSS Menu Writer if you have content management installed as it will break the menu structure. I do not have content management installed but I do need to make changes to my menu structure. What is the best way to proceed?

Many Thanks,
Albert

There shouldn't be any issue with editing the menu using CSS Menu Writer if you don't have the content management enabled. The site generated is a static site, so making modifications using CSS Menu Writer shouldn't cause any problems.

Thanks! That is good to know.

Now for my next question. Do I need to edit the menu for the home (index) page and site sculptor template for the content pages independently? Or will editing one (e.g. Site Sculptor template) through CSS Menu Writer also results in menu edits being applied to the home (index) page?

You would have to edit the template that the page is based off of and then Dreamweaver will most likely ask if you want to update the pages that the template is applied to. You would have to say yes to apply it to the pages. Otherwise, you will have to manually apply the template to the pages again to get the upadtes to show up.
