Updating FedEx in eCart 5

This tutorial will show you how to update your eCart site to use the latest FedEx version without all the muss and fuss of recreating all of your eCart pages.

This is for users with the latest version of eCart who would rather use the wizard to update their site. <a href="/community/tutorials/view_tutorial.php?tid=109">For manually updating your site, click here.</a>

An eCart site already installed
A FedEx account

arrow downUpdate Your FedEx Account

Go to http://www.fedex.com/us/developer/migration.html.

  1. Click the Migrate Now button.
  2. Follow the Migration steps to get your new FedEx account info ( Key, Password, Account number, Meter Number ).
  3. Wait for FedEx to send you your new information.


IMPORTANT! Wait until you have the updated information before continuing to the next steps!

arrow downUpdate The Server Behavior

  1. Open your eCart site in Dreamweaver.
  2. Browse to the location of your eCart pages.
  3. Click Window &gt; Server Behaviors to view the Server Behaviors panel.
  4. Open the page with the FedEx Server Behavior in it.
    In most cases this will be the confirm.php page unless a custom page was used.
    If PayPal Express was used, the pp_confirm.php page will need to be updated as well.
  5. Double click the 'eCart FedEx Shipping' Server Behavior.
  6. Enter your new FedEx information in the eCart FedEx Shipping Server Behavior dialog.
  7. Click OK.
  8. Save your changes.
  9. Upload the updated page/s to your site.
  10. Upload the WA_eCart_FedEx_PHP.php file found in the WA_eCart folder to your site.


Your eCart Store is now using the latest and greatest in FedEx technology, and you're all set to start selling with confidence again.
