Installation of Power Store 3 ???

Installation of Power Store 3 ???

I downloaded the zip file and extracted to the directory where I have all my other files for the website, opened Dreamweaver Cs4 and nothing shows up in the extensions except the Pay Pal extension that I installed previously. I tried to delete the DAT file as instructed in the common issues PDF, and still nothing happens when I open the Extension manager. Because the file is not an Adobe Extension package file I can not just click on it to open it. It has no setup files in the zip that I can see that would initialize the setup utility. I also made sure to download the XAMPP mysql and configured it. It is running both MySql and Apache in the control panel. The status says, "OK" , I thought that the Setup was supposed to start automatically after unzipping the installation files to the directory where you have the files for the website. So what am I not doing? Please help, I am just a newbie and thought the complete package Powerstore would be a great way to get our customers to buy products online. I can't get it installed.... Frustrated in Portland

PowerStore is not a dreamweaver extension. It is a web application. you must browse to the PowerStore files in your web browser to begin the installation.

In the directory you install XAMP to, there is a folder called htdocs, for me this is at:
c:\xamp\htdocs

create a folder named PowerStore3 at that location:
c:\xamp\htdocs\PowerStore3

and extract the PowerStore files there.

Then enter the following address in your web browser to start the installation:
PowerStore3

Installation of cURL

I have now installed the PowerStore3 to my local machine (testing server) and tried to run the PowerStore3 Wizard from my browser. I get a message that says :

cURL

cURL is not installed. Contact your hosting provider to have cURL installed. So I found it online and extracted it to the same folder as PowerStore3 giving it a folder of its own, I still get the message that says its not installed, does cURL need to be in the Windows or Windows/System32 directory to work? Step one cant continue without cURL, please continue to walk this newbie through the full installation process. I think I can handle getting it set up once its installed to my machine. Thanks

cURL needs to be enabled in the php.ini file.

Go the xamp install directory, in my case it is:
c:\xampp

and open the php.ini file in the php directory:
c:\xampp\php\php.ini

in a text editor. find the following line:
;extension=php_curl.dll

and change it to:
extension=php_curl.dll

save the php.ini file and restart the php server.

Could not log in to Mysql database

After installing cURL and getting verification I get to step 2 only to find that I "cant log in to Mysql database, I see that the database service is running through the XAMPP control panel, when I click on the ADMIN tab it takes me to the page phpmyadmin/ which has the error " phpMyAdmin - Error

Cannot start session without errors, please check errors given in your PHP and/or webserver log file and configure your PHP installation properly."

I know that I have the correct user name and password in the XAMPP because I can log into the XAMPP webpage and see all of the options, when I click on the tab for Tools
phpMyAdmin, I get the above error. I need some help here.
