in the calculation for the coupon discount, select to use a flat rate and enter 10 for the amount.

Coupon example.

Hi Jason, been a while since I put together the carts I am adding a coupon for the first time. Is there an example of how to do one and I just moved from ecart 5.0 to 5.3. I just want to add a $10 flat coupon. Is the size of the field determined by me?

in the archived documentation section of the eCart support page is a tutorial for adding coupon codes. the process is the same in eCart 5.

instead of using the multiple of cart subtotal calculation, just use a flat rate calculation

Ok I found the archive

Does the interactive tutorial still wok as it just shows adobe captive loading and does not load. I have attached my cart view and am not sure where to enter the field in the shopping cart Help???? In the cart area or the summary area.

the pieces of the tutorial can be accessed directly at these locations:

01_Overview.swf
02_coupons.swf
02_create_coupons_eCart_Object-final.swf
02_create_coupons.swf

add the coupon field above the cart display are or below,it should be a separate form on the page, not part of the cart display form.
