I know the wording of the announcement may have bothered some of you, but here is a true description of the issue and why we had to address it for us and for you.
An ISP purchased the powerstore and started offering it to anyone that hosted with them for $3.
People were already complaining that competing with a webassist $300 solution made their $2000 price-tag look bad. Imagine now competing with every ISP offering it for free. That is the long term possibility we couldn't afford, and would destroy any value for our customers as well.
This is also why we most likely won't be able to offer an unlimited license for solutions even under a subscription model. An ISP could (and we now see would) purchase the subscription for $250 a year and then give it to all of their customers as a value add. Once that happens, we make $250 per ISP, and you any developer like you planning on using Powerstore to help thier business is simply out of luck.
