descriptions disappear

Having implemented my first gallery and loading 41 images my client has jus infrmed me that the descriptions have disappeared.
They still show on the site but she can't see them to edit. There is no error and when I go back in I am seeing a single image file name for each image. Any ideas? All implemented without a hitch so I haven't made any changes other than to the CSS.

If you put in a description and save it and then try to view the image again, does the description get reset again or does it get saved correctly?

It won't save at all. The description gets saved once - pefectly and writes to the gallery on the site. when you go back to admin - manage images all titles and descriptions are blank when you go in but when you try to change anything the file name of the next image is persistent in all image titles. Hope that helps.

sorry should have added - after that first time nothing new is written to the description that shows on the site - ie the database. If I add a description to one of the images I haven't changed yet - then it works, for one time only.

Any more ideas?

I still can't get this to work - I can add more images but no descriptions are showing in the editor databse and I can't change them afetr they've been saved once to the site. I'm temptes to reinstall but everything went without a hitch last time so I don't think it will achieve anything. Has anyone any other ideas please?

Are you copying and pasting the description from a text editor like word? If you are, try typing the description in manually.

Could you send me some sample descriptions you are putting in?

Are there any errors on the page that may be causing an issue? There is most likely a javascript error that is causing the functionality to not work correctly.

no I'm not copying and pasting. the descriptions were typed direct. The template validates in terms of HTML and CSS. your Power CMS co-exits on the page and that content does not validate. UPDATE: - I have just commented out the power CMS code earlier in the page. All the original descriptions put in yesterday still don't show up in the manage images interface - they start off blank. But the images that had not been edited yet can now be edited and save. When I log in and out again they are still there and work as they should. I'm assuming that the problem is a conflict in the database tables between the 2 products. I have purely put a paragraph of text before the gallery that is editable with the cms - ie there are 2 separate php code elements, 1 for the CMS followed by 1 for the gallery. SO the question now is can this work? If so is there a fix?

So the descriptions work if you don't have the PowerCMS code on the page? The error is only occurring when you have the PowerCMS code on the page? When the products are used separately, the code works fine?

Are the PowerCMS and PowerGallery both installed in the same directory?

Hi Jimmy - separate directories. Two separate lines of PHP calling the 2 different products to the page.
In an effort to get this done I deleted the tables and uninstalled at the weekend. Re-installed again using the wizard onto a page that already had the PHP include from powerCMS on it. Perfect install - no problem. I tested it. All worked perfectly. I customised a gallery - made some changes to the CSS only - put the customers logo on etc. No problem - perfect. Added some descriptions and went in and made a few changes and saved and resaved - no problem. Told my client she was good to go - she added all the descriptions (aboust 40ish) SHe mailed me again - same has happened again. The descriptions are on the site but when you go into the admin the descriptions don't show and can't be edited. Entering a new one doesn't save. If you add an image you can change the description once. Any ideas?

This is scary I'm having a similar problem see this post:

showthread.php?t=10111

I've lost a lot of time setting up my clients website with this script. Descriptions are showing up in front end but not back-end, but only on some, very inconsistent.

We need some dedicated support for this problem, instead of every couple of days.

Webassit please help.
