Map not appearing in Safari but does in FF

Hi,

I just set a clients site live and changed the Google API key to reflect the new URL. The maps show up correctly in FireFox. However, in Safari the structure of the maps is rendered but never actually populated with a map. The Safari activity panel indicates an error:

"directory path"/_promaps_cache/_promaps_geocache.xml Operation could not be completed. (NSURLEErrorDor [I think that there may be more but that's all the Activity window lets me see]

There isn't a .xml file in the folder. I've run ProMaps again to make sure that it simply didn't get installed. Since the maps do dispay in Firefox, I'm not sure where to look.

Thoughts?

Thanks!

the xml file is supposed to get generated after the first viewing of the page. It is a cache file that prevents the need to geocode the addresses in your map that you have already viewed before. Can you send me a link to the map?

Also, make sure that read/write is enabled for the everyone user for the _promaps_cache directory on your server.

Hi Jimmy,

MapToColoradoSafetyAssociation.php

have you set read and write permissions on your server for that directory? If you don't the cache file will not be created and you will get that error in safari.

Hi Jimmy,

Yes the permissions are set to rwx. for the google javascript directory.

Double checked today and FF and IE are displaying correctly - just Safari is being picky.

Try creating a blank file in the _promaps_cache directory called _promaps_geocache.xml and see if that resolves the issue.

Installed but no joy.

Ran some additional browser tests and all worked correctly EXCEPT the last version of Netscape which displayed just like Safari - map boxes drawn but not populated with maps.

Must be something mozilla related maybe - expect that FF is also a mozilla browser.

Any suggestions for a next step?

One thing you can try is to create the map on a blank page and see if that works for safari. If that doesn't work, create a map with default settings and any address.
