Repeating region in email body does not work

Hi,

I have a confirmation email set up to be sent to the customer once an order is placed. Some of the values are provided by php (echo $name->DisplayInfo("article");), some are provided by a recordset/database.

When the display of the ordered items are set up with a recordset, the lines for each item repeat the same information (first row in tblorder_details of the current order). Only when the item display is set up with php, I can see each individual item as ordered and shown on the success page.

Please correct me, if I am wrong, but I was under the impression, that data provided by the database is more reliable than php. If that is not the case, I will just forget about trying to use the recordset. Otherwise, how do I fix the repeating region, so that all individual items are displayed.

Thanks
Roxana

It sounds like the recordset loop is just not moving to the next record. Have you checked the table in your db to see if the information is stored correctly? If the information is stored this way in your db then this is the way you will see it on the page. If you can tell that the information is correct in the db post back with the code for the body of the message and I will take a look to see if I can spot the issue.

Hi Eric,

The order is stored correctly in the database. Also when I define a default value for the variables, the line for each item is returned in the test for the recordset.

Just as a test I replaced the php code with the recordset values, and on the checkout success page the lines for the different items display correctly. Only on the email confirmation they don't.

I am not set on using the values from the database, if the php code is OK to use, unless there are reliability issues with the php code ( echo $name->DisplayInfo("Name");. Would the php code be just as well?

If not, do you need to look at email page only, or also at the checkout success page?

So long as you can see the correct info it is fine to use the php variables to print this out rather than the recordsets. If you would like me to look into it further I would need body of the message. You can get this by editing the Universal Email server behavior and on the body tab edit in DW. From here go to code view, select all, then copy and paste into a new file.
