Question about multiple Record Updates

Thread began 12/28/2009 11:28 pm by kakadong | Last modified 12/29/2009 2:14 pm by Eric Mittman | 639 views | 1 replies |

Question about multiple Record Updates

IS it possible to use a checkbox binding the primarykey then if i check the box ,the record will be updated ?
for example, I got 5 records , each of them has the checkbox , and if I check the 1 and 2 and 3 for updating those records , it works well ...

BUT , if I check 1,3,4 ,it only updates the first record , the 3 and 4 don't update .
ALSO , if I check 2,3,4,5 , Nothing happens!!! (because the 1 didn't check )

it seems like the multiple update behavior only works well if ALL check or the check is continueous and the first record is selected ...
AND it STOPPED when the check is not checked ,even though there are many records wait to be updated behind the record which didn't be checked ..

did I do something wrong or multiple records update is not support this??

This method of using checkboxes to control what records are updated is not a supported feature of the multiple update server behavior. To implement an update like this would require custom coding to evaluate the id's for the records to update then looping through the update to ensure that each record was updated.
