Can't Perform a Server Upload

When I try to perform a server upload I get a message that says: "The image folder contains no images! Please choose another folder."

It's quite obvious that the selected folder does contain images (see attached jpg). This might have something to do with permissions as I have just moved the website to a new hosting company and I didn't run the install application, I just copied everything across.

You need to run the installation program program to get everything setup properly. Different servers have different paths and setups.

Is there any other way? I have modified the look and feel considerably and don't want to start from scratch again. Everything else seems to work OK.

You can still use the modified pages, you just need the connections to work. Get PowerGallery working first. Then you can start replacing pages. At the very least you should run the install program to make sure all the requirements are met on the new server.

I would also recommend running the installation wizard. That way the database connection and file permissions can be setup correctly. After you run the installation, you can copy over your modified files (but don't overwrite the Connections or images folders). Then you should be able to add a new gallery and images.
