Password not recognized

Password not recognized

I am using Power Gallery and installed the files in a directory on my PHP site and uploaded them. Navigating to the directory gets me to the Installation wizard. I checked the server settings and all re ok, and I then assigned a Admin username and password. When I get to the screen to designate the gallery, the Browse button hangs – it does not open a window where I can browse to my photo folder. If I “Skip” then I get to the Admin login screen. But when I enter the username and password I just created, I get the following:
ERROR: Please login to access the requested page.
Entering the username and password again repeats this screen. If you want to check it, the path is
Power_Gallery/

What am I doing wrong?

Try using phpMyadmin to check the wa_settings table of your database to make sure of the pw

I've checked the wa and I am using the correct password.

Are you getting any error messages at the top of the page when you get to the page where you upload images?

Make sure that you have safe mode turned off on your php server. Some users have run into issues with setting up the product with safe mode turned on.

Still getting login error

I have checked that I am using the correct passwords, and Safe Mode is turned off. Still, after the install wizard runs fine and I am prompted to login to my Admin, I get an error saying "ERROR: Please login to access the requested page." Each time I enter the user ID and password, this appears.

can you change the admin login and password to temporary ones so I can try them?

Also, have you tried starting over (removing the database tables and the PowerGallery files and using a fresh copy)?

PW Issue

I have tried a complete reinstall, same issue. I've set Login: cheneyhall
Password: PhotoDB1 . Please try and let me know. Thanks.

It looks like this user also had the same issue as you are experiencing:
showthread.php?t=7894

Looks like its an issue with the session save path and you will need to contact your host to get this resolved.

More detail?

Jimmy,

You responded:

"It looks like this user also had the same issue as you are experiencing:
showthread.php?t=7894. Looks like its an issue with the session save path and you will need to contact your host to get this resolved."

Can you tell me more specifically what I should ask my host to check this? Thanks.

Well, first you should contact your hosting provider and ask them to check the error log to see if there are any errors on there. If the errors are the same as the ones posted by the other user, you should ask them to help you set the session save path correctly so that the session will be set when you log in.
