create tracking newsletter

is it possible to use universal email to send newsletters to clients from within the site and track them?

if not how can this be done?

Universal Email can be use dot create a news letter, however, depending on the number of people you are sending the newsletter to, you may run into limitations imposed by your hosts SMTP server settings.

The SMTP server will likely have a set number of connections it will allow, this may be 20, 50, or 200. this will determine the number of people that you can successfully send the news letter to. universal Email does not have a way of sending the email in small bursts to get round that limitation.

No not really, a news letter page is just a basic html page, you could use HTML Editor to create the news letter, and output the HTML Editor in the body of the Email.

thanks jason, is there any docs on how to go about creating a page that you can send emails from? is it a case of inserting html editor or universal email?

sorry just trying to create a page where they can mailshot contacts in database.

You need to use both HTMLEditor and Universal Email together.
