error upon trying to edit a menu

error upon trying to edit a menu

Hi,
Just purchased MenuWriter today. I created a menu, and now am trying to make changes to it. So, as instructed, I've clicked on "edit menu" in the properties inspector. When I first open the editing menu, I get this error:
"Error generating menu (wa.generate.menu):TypeError: this.orientations[orientation] has no properties"
If I click "OK" I can get past it, but then any changes I attempt, such as changing from "horizontal" to "vertical," or trying to "define" a theme are met with the same error message.
thanks,
Lisa

try deleting the Dreamweaver cache file from the users configuration folder:
common_installation_issues.pdf

no change

Jason,

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried deleting the file; uninstalling the extension and then deleting the file, etc., but I still have the same issue.

I've thought of one thing which might be an issue. When I click on About Dreamweaver from within the program, I'm told I'm in Dreamweaver CS3, but when I navigate to the Cache file, I only find a directory called Dreamweaver 9, not Dreamweaver CS3.

thanks,
Lisa

That is fine, Dreamweaver CS3 is Dreamweaver 9, you have the correct folder.

What version of menu writer do you have installed?

Please make sure it is the most recent version available from the download center. If it is a previous version, uninstall it from the extesnion manager before installing the new one.

Can you send a copy of the page you have applied the menu to and the CSSMenuWriter folder so I can take a look at the code.

problem has changed

Hi again,

Thanks for your response.

I went through all the uninstall/reinstall/delete .dat file instructions once more. Then I entered a new menu test on this page: cssmenuwriter.php

When I return to this page in order to edit the menu, I click on the little script icon, but instead of seeing a CSS Menu Writer edit button, I am only seeing an "edit CSS" button, that would allow me to edit the properties of the <div> tag. In other words, the icon I'm clicking is for the <div> tag and not for the menu.

any other suggestions

Hello,

Just wondering if you have any other suggestions. I have a 15-day period during which I can get my money back, so I still have some time there, but have a client who won't wait that long. I'm feeling that if I can't get this working very quickly, I'll have to turn elsewhere.

thanks,
Lisa
