Dynamic Dropdown extension not installing properly

Dynamic Dropdown extension not installing properly

I am having the same issue with Universal Email and Dynamic Dropdown extensions. I have downloaded and installed both through the Dreamweaver CS4 extension manager. Even after I close Dreamweaver and reopen it, these two extensions do not even show up under the insert menu and therefore am unable to even use them. All of the other WebAssist extensions have installed into Dreamweaver with no problem and I installed these two the same way as the rest. Why are they not showing up?

Dynamic Dropdown Extension not installing properly

Thanks, but does anyone have an answer that is more specific to my issue??

Just as a suggestion, there really ought to be technical support faster than having to wait for responses on forums such as a phone line. I am stuck with my website until I resolve this.

To access the extensions, click on Insert -> WebAssist in Dreamweaver and you should see a list of the installed extensions.

You can also access some of the Server Behaviors by clicking the + button in the Server Behaviors panel (window -> Server Behaviors)

To access the Universal Email extesnion, go to Insert -> WebAssist -> Universal Email.

make sure you are not looking on the Insert bar, it will not show up there, but on the insert menu.

You can also access it through the server behaviors panel.

Go to Window -> Server Behaviors to open the server behaviors panel. Click the plus button and select Web Assist -> Universal Email.

Same holds true for Dynamic Drop downs. It cannot be accessed from the Insert bar, but from the Insert menu:
Insert -> WebAssist -> Dynamic Dropdowns.

Or from the ser4ver Behaviors panel. Click the plus button on the server behaviors panel. Select WeabAssist -> Dynamic Dropdowns.

Some behaviors from Dynamic Dropdowns are client side, so you will need to access them from the behaviors panel instead.

Go to Window -> Behaviors. Click the plus button and select WebAssist -> Dynamic Dropdowns.

If you are still having problems accessing them, close Dreamweaver, Then open the extesnion manager and make sure those extensions are listed and they are enabled, if so open Dreamweaver and try again.

Getting recordsets error

I was only able to access Dynamic Dropdowns and Universal Mail through the server behaviors pannel. When I tried to pull up the Dynamic Dropdowns to enter into my page I am getting this error message: There are no recordsets on your page. There must be at least one for the array. I have no clue what this means.

I have used other trial dropdown menus and have had no problem inserting them. I am finding this to be a tad too complicated.

Dynamic Dropdowns requires that you create a recordset, if none has been created on the page, you will bet this error.

The purpose of Dynamic Dropdows is to create Parent and child dropdown lists used for drilling down related data from a database.

Take for example a car site. You would have a database containing cars makes and models, using dynamic dropdowns, you could create a parent drop down list that displayed all of the makes from the database. When a make is selected, only the models that relate to that make are displayed in the child list.
