problems with layout of front page in IE8

the Div "storemessage and its image display to the right of the wrapper in DW CS4.
When I test the site (under the Prod server; W2008S/IIS7.0/MySQL 5.2/PHP 5) it displays to the left of the wrapper... why is it so???

One option - albeit not ideal

Here is what I did so as to not spend the rest of my life trying to get our site working in all the browsers. I put the following line inside the <head> </head> tag

<meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=EmulateIE7" />

What this does is tells IE 8 to emulate IE 7 when displaying your page.

I know this is not ideal, but who has the 900 million years to spend on getting a webpage to look the same in IE 6, IE 7, IE 8, Safari, Firefox, Chrome.

Microsoft just doesn't get it. They are a great company but seriosly.

Hope this helps.

Terry

If adding the meta tag as suggested by terry does not work for you, please post a link to the page where we could see the problem to troubleshoot the cause, it is impossible to tell what is wrong from the screen shots.

painful, isn't it...?

Thanks Terry,
actually I thought the header code that WA put in all their solution series was supposed to do that? - and IE8 crashes regularly as well - but they have such a **** deathgrip on the browser market - and so many people code to their "standards", you are in the proverbial rock and a hard place.

Jason, could I get an email addy plse? - not keen on publicly advising links to my test and dev.
