P tag around text

My text in html editor is getting wrapped by default with a p tag as soon as I start writting. How can I solve this?

Customize the HTML Editor Preset, on the Formatting tab, select the "Use <br> for return" option.

I have a similar problem...

I have tried "Use <br> for return" option and whenever I go back to edit the text and click on the "source" button, the content is wrapped in a <p> tag.

I can delete the opening and closing P tags again, and the text displays as I want it in my page, but if I edit the text again and click on the "source" button again the P tags come back and I have to delete them again. Very annoying.

Is there a way to get around this once and for all?

You get around it by using the <br> for return option.

it sounds to me like after making that change, you did not upload the entire HTMLEditor folder to the server, or your browser is caching the original.

Delete your browsers cache, and the HTMLEditor folder from the server, the re upload it and try again.

you may also want top try another browser just to make sure it is not a browser cache issue.

Hi Jason,

I have deleted and re uploaded the HTMLEditor folder and that indeed seems to have cured the problem. I could have sworn I did that last night, but I obviously didn't, or I didn't clear the browser cache.

Thanks again for your great support.
