SiteAssist Pro 1.0.7 frustration

SiteAssist Pro 1.0.7 frustration

Since updating to 1.0.7 all I have gotten accomplished is to uninstall all my extensions along with Dreamweaver then reinstall everything. Many times.

I have read and followed all the steps outlined here on the support forum and nothing has worked.

If I only reinstall 1.0.7 after going through the whole procedure it works, but once I start adding my other extensions the next thing I notice is the whole thing is broken and I get to start over again.

I don't know about anyone else, but when I finally have time to work on a website the last thing I need is a buggy extension I paid hard earned money for acting up and using up all my time just to get back to where I was in the beginning.

Web Assist's customers shouldn't be the ones to check each extension one by one to see at what point the whole thing breaks and they then have to uninstall and reinstall everything.

As for me until something else comes out I won't touch 1.0.7 with a stick.

Come on guys, get this fixed.

You mentioned that after you install it and use other extensions, 'the next thing I notice is the whole thing is broken'. Please expand on this a little more so that we have an idea about what the problem is that you are experiencing. With some additional info we can try to reproduce and troubleshoot this issue. If there is a problem that we cannot reproduce quickly on our end I can open a ticket for so that we can check into this with an engineer to try and understand what is happening and get it fixed for you.

SiteAssist Pro version 1.0.7 extension roulette

After uninstalling Dreamweaver and all the Webassist extensions I have gone back and began to install the extensions again to see at what point I get the dreaded javascript error and get to start all over again.

On the last round after installing SAP 1.0.7 the next extension installed broke it and the only way I have found to make Dreamweaver work again is to uninstall / reinstall then go back to adding extensions one by one until it doesn't work again.

This time it was SAP 1.0.7 then Security Assist 1.1.8 it worked
Next, Surveyor 1.04 and wasap_wizard does not load so it's another evening shot as I remove then replace Dreamweaver and try extension roulette again.

Simply disabling or removing extensions does not help. Once this error shows up the only solution I have found is to uninstall and then reinstall. There is a great amount of time lost with each attempt as you know as well as the rest of us that these things don't install, deactivate or remove very quickly. All together perhaps 3 hours of my time is stolen from me each time I go through this procedure.

When I play roulette and install another extension one of the first things to come up is an alert that various WA files already exist and do I want to overwrite them. Could this be part of the problem?

I am running Mac OS X 10.6.1 4 GB Ram, Dreamweaver CS4 and am not a particularly happy customer considering the amount of my hard earned money I have spent and having to do troubleshooting that someone at Webassist didn't do.

An to think I was actually going to get something done on a website tonight.

It sounds like you may be experiencing problems relating the Win or Mac filecache depending on your os. This can sometimes happen when you install extensions. When installing you should be selecting 'yes to all' to overwrite any files.

If this is the problem deleting this file and restarting should get you going. Here is a link to a page that lists the steps to do this:

Please try deleting this cache file and letting us know how it works for you. Also, if you continue to have problems please post back with the specific errors you are getting and exactly when they occur for you.
